24 July 2011 (Sun): Pesta Kelip-Kelip in Kampung Dew,

Taiping, Perak

From Ratu Kelip-Kelip: Join us for in Kampung Dew, for the inaugural Pesta Kelip-Kelip and a soft launch of the KelipKelip Cahaya Alam Perak (KECAP) group formed to cater for the firefly watching, increase awareness of the importance of fireflies and mangroves at the same time looking after the fireflies.

This annual awareness event is organised with the objective of highlighting the local attractions of tourism products of Kg Dew and it surroundings, especially the dense colonies of synchronous fireflies. Bring your families, children and friends along and enjoy other activities such as the beautiful sunset and landscape of Kampung Dew, enjoy the local delicacies, the charcoal kilns, and the various booths and be part of Malaysia’s first, but modest celebration of the Fireflies.

Please note: This years’ theme will be Fireflies, Mangroves and Communities and starts in the evening of Sunday 24 July (please note the change of date due to unforeseen circumstances).
